We’re a frozen food brand that became a 3PL

Before F2C shipped a single box for anyone else, it shipped thousands for Atome Bakery, a Vancouver direct-to-consumer frozen sourdough bakery, and where F2C’s founders started.

Atome ships raw-frozen bread and pastries in insulated boxes, packed with dry ice, straight to homes across Canada. That sounds simple until you actually try to do it: a loaf of sourdough that thaws in transit is a refund, a bad review, and a customer who doesn’t order again. There was no software that verified addresses the way a frozen shipper needs, no off-the-shelf system that calculated dry-ice quantities by transit time, and no 3PL that treated a frozen box with the care it actually needs.

So the founders built it themselves. A warehouse operation designed around freezers and ship-day batching instead of generic pick-and-pack. Dry-ice packing recipes tuned for specific products and specific transit times: enough to survive the trip, not so much that every shipment cost more than it needed to. Software to run all of it: a warehouse management system (what we now call Revy), address verification with PO-box detection, and delivered-status tracking that closes the loop back to Shopify.

None of it was built to be a product. It was built because Atome needed to ship37,000+ boxes across Canada and keep every one of them frozen.

Once the system worked reliably, at scale, for our own brand, other frozen and perishable food brands started asking how we did it. Frozen seafood companies. Meat brands. Ice cream makers. Every one of them had the same problem Atome had: they needed a 3PL that actually understood frozen shipping, not a generic warehouse that happened to have a freezer.

That’s F2C: the 3PL we wished existed when we started shipping frozen sourdough out of Vancouver. Today we fulfill for other brands from our own Vancouver warehouse, covering Western Canada, with the same dry-ice know-how and the same software that shipped 37,000+ boxes of our own.
